Spending the past week in the Bahamas with my brother, dad and stepmother have been interesting, to say the least. It's been a while since we embarked on a family vacation, and Atlantis was quite the destination. Paradise Island is apparently a giant commercial resort with $17 glasses of champagne. You only live once, I guess?
There were fireworks and water slides, a spa day and cocktails. I learned how to play blackjack (really just watched other people play and kind of understood what was going on) and my brother ordered his first mojito at the bar. Although I'm convinced my stepmother is the evil woman the fairy tales warn you about, I did my best to just enjoy the few days we had. Of course, my waistline took the biggest hit. No exercise and lots of cocktails; at least now I have some 2015 NYE fitness resolutions to focus on.
I have to admit though, the ability to finally sit down at a bar and order a drink was too fun. Even though I've been abroad before and was able to order wine at dinner with my parents, this time felt different.
All in all though, the trip was memorable and a good way to say goodbye to 2014 and hello to 2015. I can't wait to see what happens.
Oh, and thanks to my little brother who took all the photos I'm in. Despite the fact my Canon 6D confuses him.
