The past month seemed to simultaneously pass by at a grudging slow and terrifyingly quick pace. I wrapped up my summer drawing course, went on a road trip to Pennsylvania, moved out of my apartment and am now trying to prepare myself to leave the country for the next 6 months. The study abroad course leaves me temporarily relocated to a small town just outside London. This is an opportunity I've always dreamed of, and now that it's finally happening I just hope it doesn't go disastrously.
As if Charleston knew that I would be taking a hiatus, the Post and Courier's CharlestonScene used my photos from Pop Up Charleston in their cover story. Yes, that is my photo on the actual cover. (All except the one of the Pop Up leaders are under my name, to be clear.) It was an usual situation, only because I didn't know my photo would be front-page but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make my day. Oh, and apologies for the poor quality of the scan.
Officially, I leave for Europe in two weeks. The semester in Britain doesn't actually begin until late September but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to travel around beforehand. So, I start in Lisbon and will somehow find my way back to London. Until all that begins, I've been trying to keep a creative output and included a few selects from a shoot I did just a few days ago.
